ResortQuest Offers up to 20 Off Charleston-Area Lodging during the Spring Festival of Houses and Gardens

The Historic Charleston Foundation presents the 64th Annual Spring Festival of Houses and Gardens, providing a rare glimpse inside some of the city’s oldest and most beautiful private residences. ResortQuest offers up to 20% off Festival accommodations on nearby Isle of Palms, Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island.

Known for its beautiful vistas, friendly residents and genteel spirit, Charleston, S.C., is a city of historical significance and architectural delights. From March 17 through April 16, 2011, the 64th Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens will afford visitors a behind-the-gates look inside the stately homes and elegant gardens of private residences in the Old and Historic District of The Holy City.ResortQuest® by Wyndham Vacation Rentals, a leading provider of premier vacation rentals in the Charleston area, is offering savings of up to 20% off select accommodations in Isle of Palms, Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island off the coast of Charleston during the Festival. While Charleston’s Festival of Houses and Gardens showcases homes from the American colonial period, antebellum era, Victorian age and the early 20th century, ResortQuest’s vacation rentals introduce guests to the pleasures of modern Lowcountry living. Many of the properties offered by ResortQuest include fine furnishings and exceptional amenities, including bathrooms with steam showers and jetted tubs, gourmet kitchens with granite counters and professional appliances, and high-definition televisions and surround-sound systems.”What better way to spend the evening after touring Charleston’s beautiful historic residences, than to retire to a private tennis villa, spacious oceanfront home or golf villa overlooking a fairway,” says Cheryl Spezia, vice president of marketing for ResortQuest. “In addition, each of Charleston’s islands is an excellent vacation destination in its own right, with celebrity-designed golf courses, top-rated tennis and miles of sandy beaches.”Each of the Festival’s daily House Tours will explore seven to ten properties in one of 11 Charleston neighborhoods. A single Glorious Garden Tour will take place each Thursday afternoon and will include a wine and lemonade reception. Each weekday and Saturday morning, a two-hour Charleston History guided walking tour will offer a valuable backdrop against which to view an afternoon or evening House Tour.Legends abound in a city that dates back to colonial times. Tour guides may divulge tales such as which street is said to have been named for the first male child born in Charles Town or which neighborhood is situated on land that was allegedly won in a card game.
